Leksi Harris (she/they)
New York native, Leksi brings comfort to their indie and soulful tone and showcases that through their music. Their homebound produced EP, 'I was manic when I wrote this', takes a steer away from the R&B route and takes that step into the Alternative world and let's their own influences see that spectrum of light.

Where do you call home?
I was born and raised on Staten Island, NY

When did you realize that you wanted to pursue your life in music?
I realized I wanted to pursue a life in music at the age of 9 or 10. I was a huge Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana fan and I wanted to be just like her. As time progressed and I started to learn more about myself I had more musical influences, but that's really where it started.

What did you listen to when you were growing up?
Growing up I listened to A LOT of different music genres; From Amy Winehouse to Ariana Grande, Paramore to the Lemonade Mouth soundtrack. HAHA. My parents are huge music lovers as well and they made sure my brothers and I listened to R&B and Soul and had that part of our culture embedded in us.

Who is your biggest influence?
My biggest influence, or influences I would say are Mac Miller, Amy Winehouse, Ariana Grande, Jon Bellion, Hayley Williams, The Beatles, Miley Cyrus, Tori Kelly and Christopher Cross. I love a well-written song and they're all phenomenal writers.

In three words, how would you describe your own influence?
Hmm, I would describe my music as Sporadic, yet grounded; Vulnerable andddddd maybe colorful.

If you were to introduce someone to your music for the first time, which song(s) of yours would you play them?
If I were to introduce someone to my music for the first time I would probably play them 'I Never Knew ', 'This song will make you stay ' or something unreleased. I love showing unreleased music because it's like telling a secret.

What do you aspire to be through your music?
I aspire to heal I guess. I aspire to relate to people so much that they choose to come together and move forward in honesty. I really want people to listen and be able to be open and honest about their own feelings.

What is a favorite line that you resonate with or choose to live by?
Christopher Cross said, 'The canvas can do miracles, just you wait and see.' And that's a line that keeps me hopeful in life. Hayley Williams said, 'It's just a spark, but it's enough to keep me going.' AND THAT'S THE STORY OF MY LIFE.

Which three celebs would you invite to a dinner party and why?
Okay boom: Ariana Grande, Reneé Rapp and Sabrina Carpenter. I just feel like I'd cry from laughing so hard. I think I'm pretty funny so that would be a good time. Honorable mention: Tyler the Creator.

And lastly, what does Eden mean to you?
The first thing that came to mind was the Garden of Eden which is a personal favorite. I like to imagine myself there when I'm writing songs about love, chaos and beautiful disasters.
